Hitchcock screenwriter John Michael Hayes passes away

Screenwriter John Michael Hayes died last week of natural causes at the age of 89. Hayes wrote some of Hitchcock's most-known films, including Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, and the remake of The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Hayes's work on Rear Window gained him an Academy Award nomination. Hayes was also nominated for an Oscar for writing the 1957 film Peyton Place.

Hayes is survived by two daughters, Rochelle Hayes and Meredyth Hayes Badreau; two sons, Garrett Michael and Corey; and four grandchildren.
